Work placement
You’ll have the option to complete a 12-week work project, receiving support and advice from a mentor in a client organisation, as well as a member of academic staff. We’ll use our network of local, regional, national and international employers to help secure you a challenging and fulfilling experience.
Recent clients have included Formula 1, Gfinity, the International Olympic Committee, Virtus, FutbolJobs, Sheffield United FC and Sheffield Wednesday FC.

As part of your studies, you’ll undertake an industry-based research project – working with sport organisations to solve problems or explore potential market opportunities.

On this course you’ll improve your employability skills and develop specialist knowledge of the global sports industry. Normally a first degree 2:2 or above in a sport-related or business and management-related subject
OR a first degree 2:2 or above in an unrelated subject, but with experience of working in sport or general business and management.
We welcome enquiries from those who have substantial management experience but who do not have the normal entry requirements. We may invite you for an interview to discuss your particular background, experience and qualifications. Our aim is to ensure you can achieve success on this masters course, but please contact us if you wish to discuss your own concerns. Through accreditation of prior learning (APL), students may claim entry with credit or exemptions on the basis of their existing qualifications, knowledge and experience.
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent. If your level of English language is currently below IELTS 6.0 we recommend you consider an appropriate Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve the required level of English.
