How you learn

Live projects

As part of this course, you will undertake a large consultancy based project worth 40 credits where you will design a solution to a real world event leisure-based problem. Pending your entry level criteria, you may execute and critique your own leisure-based event that you research, design, deliver and reflect upon, hosted in the city centre for real stakeholders.

Work experience

You have access to work experience opportunities across various event sectors (including the leisure sector) available from an online portal updated in real time, with roles ranging from local charity events to international festivals in Europe. Your modules will also feature visits in and around the region.

Field trips

There will be an opportunity to join field trips and site visits during the course that enhance your learning and given a practical application to knowledge gained in the classroom.

Networking opportunities

Our links with industry mean that you hear from a wide range of guest speakers. Previous guest speakers have included Martin Green of the London 2012 organising committee, Simon Graveling of Athens 2004, London 2012 and Sochi 2014, David Jamilly of Theme Traders, and Jon Hughes from KPMG.

All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.

You will develop your skills through a combination of seminars and workshops, by attending lectures, and by completing projects.
